What to expect when you purchase a trailer:
As a customer of The Trailer Connection you are very valuable to us, thus you should expect our staff to have an extensive knowledge of our products and be able to help you deduce the very best trailer to fit your needs providing practical solutions for your business, hobbies or family. After selecting the appropriate size, model, and any necessary accessories or services to accompany your new trailer, the staff will walk you through the process of purchasing which will include: invoicing, address verification, financing, registration, titling, warranty and trailering safety information (Note: if you are an out of state purchaser additional paperwork is required). It is our objective to make your trailer purchase as quick and easy for your as possible.
After the paperwork for the sale is completed your sales person will go over with you the towing instructions, appropriate loading techniques and general maintenance required; then you will be on your way!
Our office staff will complete any financing paperwork and submit your Tag and Title work for processing. Before your Temporary Tag expires you will receive a packet in the mail (unless you have specified otherwise) containing all supporting documents pertinent to your trailer purchase (i.e. permanent tag, registration, Certificate of Origin, warranty card, financing sales paperwork, invoice, etc.).
What you will need for a trailer purchase:
In order for The Trailer Connection to offer you the highest quality service and ensure no delays in paperwork or registration of your trailer, you will need the following information or documentation at the time of sale.
For Personal Trailer Purchases, State of Florida *:
- Valid Florida Drivers License for all parties of purchase and registration
- Current Registration - if you wish to request a tag transfer (Note: Registrations can only be transferred exactly as is, no changes or additions are permissible)
- All purchasers and titlees are to be present at the time of sale to provide original signatures on all necessary documents.
* Please note that the registration of trailers is MANDATORY in the state of Florida, therefore if you are unable to provide the necessary supporting documentation the sale may be subject to termination.
For Business Trailer Purchases, State of Florida *:
- Federal Identification Number
- Valid Drivers License or Identification for authorized purchaser
- Current Registration - if you wish to request a tag transfer (Note: Registrations can only be transferred exactly as is, no changes or additions are permissible)
- All purchasers and titlees are to be present at the time of sale to provide original signatures on all necessary documents.

Personal or Business Trailer Purchases, Out of State
- Valid Out of State Drivers License for all parties of purchase
- Current Out of State Business License (Businesses only)
- All purchasers and titlees are to be present at the time of sale to provide original signatures on all necessary documents.
- DR-123 Affidavit for Partial Exemption of Motor Vehicles Sold for Licensing in Another State (to be provided by The Trailer Connection and completely filled out by the customer)
Dealer to Dealer Trailer Purchases, State of Florida *:
- Valid Dealer License
- Annual Certificate of Resale / DR-13
- Federal Identification Number
- Valid Drivers License or Identification for authorized purchaser
Tax Exempt Trailer Purchases, State of Florida *:
- Valid Exemption Certificate
- Federal Identification Number
- Valid Drivers License or Identification for authorized purchase
- Registration, invoicing and warranty information must be completed in the name of the Exempt Organization
- Payment must be made by check or credit card bearing the name of the Exempt Organization
