Every vehicle shall be equipped with brakes acting on all wheels except trailers with a gross weight not exceeding 3,000 lbs. and the combination of vehicles, consisting of the towing vehicle and its total towed load, is capable of complying with the performance requirements of the law.
The total combined length of the trailer and towing vehicle shall not exceed 65 feet. The maximum length of the trailer is 40 feet, and the width shall not exceed 102 inches, excluding mirrors and safety devices. The maximum height of the trailer is 13'6".
When a vehicle is towing a trailer or by means of a hitch to the rear of the vehicle, safety chains, cables, or other safety devices are required.
Every motor vehicle and trailer shall be equipped with at least 2 tail lamps mounted on the rear and are required to be plainly visible from a distance of 1,000 feet when lighted.
Every vehicle operated individually or when towing any other vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror located as to reflect to the driver’s view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet.
